CLYDE BOSS IAN MCCALL 'ONLY FOCUSED ON PETERHEAD' AS DROP RIVALS CLASH

Clyde boss Ian McCall insists he’s only focused on his side’s trip to Peterhead on Saturday, though League Two drop rivals Stranraer and Bonnyrigg Rose go head to head at Stair Park.

A win at the Balmoral could potentially take the Bully Wee above both, as they bid to avoid the Pyramid play-off, and McCall says nothing else matters if they don’t win their games.

Clyde drew 0-0 with The Spartans and went close to beating the fourth-placed Spartans at New Douglas Park on Saturday, with Craig Howie’s header crashing off the post, and Jordan Allan was unable to force the rebound into the empty net, following a goalmouth scramble.

Boss Ian McCall said: “It’s another game where we have not been beaten, and it’s four wins and a draw from seven games.

“We probably did deserve to win it in the second half, but we take the point and move on.

“We are two points behind now, and six weeks ago we were a lot more than that.”

It has been a big turnaround for the club, with the Bully Wee cut 10 points adrift at the bottom as recently as February.

McCall added: “Everybody has talked about the other fixtures and what the other teams are doing, but I have just completely concentrated on us.

“No matter what happens in other games, if we don’t win our games it doesn’t really matter.

“We need to keep putting in performances like the second half, and turning that into goals.

“You can’t quibble, winning four games out of six, so we have to go again and win this Saturday.”
