UCL MD-11 RATE MY TEAM

We’ve reached the business end of this season’s UCL campaign, and what a thrilling ride it’s been! As a Manchester City fan, it’s been a rollercoaster of emotions for me, with plenty of highs and lows. Only four teams now remain, and to the surprise of many, none are from England.

This unexpected turn of events will undoubtedly cause headaches for fantasy UCL managers who backed English teams in the quarterfinals. I was one of those managers, and this matchweek, I’m knee-deep in a revamp of my squad for matchday 11. I’ve laid out my plans for you below.

Initial Drafts

Here’s what my team looked like coming out of the quarter finals:

Even at a glance, it’s clear I’m in a tough spot — look at all those eliminated players! With only Kane, Vinicius Jr., and Jude Bellingham remaining in the competition, my squad is looking a little thin. You might be thinking, “Just take a few hits with transfers and you’ll be okay.”

While that’s an option, I have a different strategy in mind: the wildcard chip. That’s right, folks! This week, I’m unleashing my wildcard for a complete overhaul of my team.

Current Draft

After 12 gleefully free transfers, here’s my current roster: Kane, Vinicius and Mbappe up front leading the line. In midfield, Musiala, Bellingham, Vitinha and Sabitzer. In defense, I have Rudiger, Maatsen, Hakimi and Donnaruma.

Overall, I’m very satisfied with this well-rounded team. It boasts strong representation from Bayern, Real Madrid, PSG, and Dortmund, ensuring I won’t be left high and dry come the final. As it’s a Wildcard team with unlimited free transfers, I’ll likely still make minor adjustments based on injury updates. Leroy Sané is a potential addition, so I’ll be keeping an eye on Thomas Tuchel’s press conference.

Another advantage is the flexibility in captaincy. Harry Kane will likely get the armband on Tuesday, but if he stumbles I can always switch to Kylian Mbappé on Wednesday.

Honestly, I’m struggling to find weaknesses in this squad. It’s packed with explosive players who can rack up points, and even the bench is stocked with quality names.

But I’m interested to hear what you think. Please rate my team!
