The Daily Merengue is a place where you can feel free to discuss all things football. Do not be alarmed by the overt RMCF bias. It’s in the name!
Shoutout to the mods who do a fantastic job, Kung_Fu_Zizou, Felipejack, Juninho, NeRObutBlanco and yours truly, Valyrian Steel.
Toni Kroos is no longer a Real Madrid player. He remains forever a Madridista!
Ceballos is once again the subject of much speculation. The reserve midfielder will likely see more minutes next season with the departure of Toni Kroos and the age of Luka Modric but it seems he’s agitating for a move. Seems unlikley given his wages and the fee Real Madrid will want. However, Real Madrid are not known for keeping players who want to leave.
With senior players like Kroos and Nacho leaving, Real Madrid has retained the services of the nearly 40-years old Luka Modric and the experienced La Fabrica graduate, Lucas Vazquez. The success of the club over the last 3 seasons will mean everything is calm at the Bernabeu regarding potential transfers in and out.
Vallejo does not really have a role in the side but I would not be quick to rule out a stay given the departure of Nacho and David Alaba’s fitness problems. What’s more.. Who will buy him?
Jude is fortunate to not only have a good head on his shoulders but a close relationship with both parents who happen to love the game. The pressure in today’s game can do a lot of damage, especially on young players who become celebrities overnight. Jude seems largely unaffected by his status.
